The official Android Minecraft is Bedrock — touch-native, Marketplace purchases, but no mod support beyond Marketplace add-ons. This build is a Java Edition port: the actual PC Java engine running on Android, which means:
- Fabric/Forge-style mods — install and run actual Java mods (OptiFine-type performance mods, shaders, content mods)
- Full Java Edition parity — same world format, same mechanics, same snapshot features as PC Java
- Custom servers — connect to Java edition servers

- With shaders: modern phones only — shaders are the heavy part
